Goal: Help writers organise ideas clearly by using one idea per sentence and presenting them in a logical order.
To make your writing easy to read, it’s important to organize your ideas clearly. A good rule is: one idea per sentence.
When a sentence includes too many ideas, it becomes long, confusing, and hard to follow. For example:
« You must fill out the form, bring your ID, and go to the front desk before 10 am because the office closes early on Fridays. »
That’s too much at once.
Instead, break it into shorter sentences:
« Fill out the form. Bring your ID. Go to the front desk before 10 am. The office closes early on Fridays. »
This way, each step is easy to see and understand.
Also, put your ideas in a logical order. Start with the most important point. Then explain what to do, when, and why.
Think of your writing like giving directions. If you explain one thing at a time, the reader won’t get lost.
Using one idea per sentence helps:
- Make your text clearer
- Reduce misunderstandings
- Support readers with learning or language difficulties
A clear structure is kind to your reader and makes your message stronger.
